Khalia Green is a photojournalist based in Los Angeles. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in visual journalism from Brooks Institute. At 13, she became interested in photography when her mother took her to see an exhibit of the late Gordon Parks, entitled "Half Past Autumn," that was on display in Oakland at the time. Many photographers have been influential, those being: Mary Ellen Mark, Robert Frank, Graciela Iturbide, Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe, among others.
Photography is a way of communicating to the world what I see, and what I am experiencing. My work primarily focuses on minorities living in Los Angeles County. It is what I am passionate about, and what I most identify with. My goal is to help others better understand what certain groups of people contend with in their daily lives.
